Firefighters responding to wildfire near Lind

LIND – State fire assistance has been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan in support of local firefighters who are working to contain the Lind Fire, which started just before noon Thursday near the cities of Ritzville and Lind.
The Lind Fire is estimated at 2,000 acres and growing. Homes, crops, and infrastructure are threatened. Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized the mobilization of state firefighting resources this afternoon at the request of Adams County Fire District No. 2 Chief Kevin Starring.
Level 3 evacuations are current in effect. The fire cause is currently under investigation.
