Wallowa Whitman Industrial Fire Precaution Level changes

NORTHEAST OREGON – The Wallowa Whitman National Forest has made some changes to their Industrial Fire Precaution Levels (IFPL) effective immediately. 

Wallowa and Whitman Unites are now at IFPL II.  The level reads as follows:

II Partial Hootowl- The following may operate only between the hours of 8 p.m. and 1 p.m. local time:

            • power saws except at loading sites;

            • cable yarding;

            • blasting;         

            • welding or cutting of metal.

Emily Unit is now at IFPL I.  The level reads as follows:

I Closed Season – Fire precaution requirements are in effect.  A Fire Watch/Security is required as this and all higher levels unless otherwise waived.
