WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Richard Schram reports that the body of a person found east of the city of Walla Walla on July 6 has been identified. He was Miguel Perez Barragan, 24, from the Tri-Cities area.
Schram said the ongoing investigation means that no further details will be released. Barragan’s next of kin has been notified.
Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office deputies, detectives, and members of the Walla Walla Regional Task Force responded to a report that a private citizen had found human remains. When the body was located, the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab responded to assist with the search for and collection of evidence.
Barragan’s remains were autopsied in Spokane, but at this point the cause of his death has not been released.
