PENDLETON – The Pendleton School District Board of Directors holds its first regular meeting of the new fiscal year today (Monday) at 6 p.m. The first item on the agenda is the election of board officers. Dale Freeman is nominated for the chair position and Beth Harrison is nominated as vice chair.
The district’s new superintendent, Kevin Headings, will ask the board to approve its meeting and work session schedule for the new fiscal year. He will also ask the directors to approve renewing the Oregon School Activities Association cooperative agreement that allows students at Nixyaawii Community School to play football at Pendleton High School.
The board will also take action on reroofing the Gold Gym at Pendleton High School. The successful bidder for that contract was Vitan Construction LLC, based in Portland. The roof has reached the end of its life, according to district officials. That was evidenced in damage done to the gym floor last winter.
The meeting is at district headquarters on Northwest 10th Street. It may also be attended virtually. For log-in instructions, email Ronda Thornburg at rthornburg@pendletonsd.org.
