Arrested man found with explosive device

MT. VERNON – (Press Release provided by Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley)

On the morning of July 6th near 9:15 am, Grant County Deputies and Oregon State Police Troopers responded to the Ingle Street area of Mt. Vernon to a report of an individual yelling and waving brass knuckles. 

Chance Fleetwood, 23, of Mt. Vernon was contacted and arrested on weapons charges. 

Mr. Fleetwood was also found to be in possession of an improvised explosive device. 

Near 8:05 pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police executed a search warrant on the Fleetwood residence at 400 Cottonwood in Mt. Vernon. Additional items of evidentiary value were located in connection with the recovered explosive device.
