WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release Wednesday relating to law enforcement activity in Waitsburg this week after detectives were contacted last Friday of a possible homicide.
Law enforcement immediately began an investigation and started conducting interviews into the validity of the report. The investigation continued over the weekend and multiple search warrants were signed by a judge for various residences, vehicles, and outbuildings on the 700 block of Maple Street in Waitsburg.
The Walla Walla Regional SWAT team was authorized to serve those warrants on Monday. On Tuesday, detectives and SWAT team members served the search warrants. In the process, multiple subjects were contacted and identified. The Washington State Crime Scene Response Team responded and assisted through the day with crime scene processing and forensic evidence collection.
At this time, the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as the agency is able to obtain in.
