HERMISTON – It’s budget time for the Hermiston City Council, which also acts as the city’s urban renewal agency. Public hearings will be held on both spending plans at the meeting at 7 p.m. today in the Hermiston Community Center.
The city budget involves four resolutions. One is for the financial plan, while others establish compensation plans, reserve accounts, and receive state funds. The proposed budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year is $65,273,616.
The proposed budget for the Hermiston Urban Renewal Agency is $645,662. HURA helps in the economic development of the downtown area by offering grants to business owners.
