Man arrest on myriad of charges of Domestic Disturbance call to law enforcement

LA GRANDE – The La Grande Police Department (LDGP) responded to reports of a Domestic Disturbance recently that lead to the arrest of 25-year-old Donald “Eric” Sommerville.  According to information from LGPD, the report, from a third party said that Eric Sommerville was attacking a woman.  

When officers arrived, “they learned Sommerville was on probation and was prohibited from having contact with the victim.  Sommerville was trying to take property from the victim’s residence and when she tried to get him to leave, he attacked her, causing minor injuries.  Children were also present in the home when this occurred.  Sommerville also damaged a door during the attack and took the victim’s phone when she tried to call for help.  He left moments before the police arrived and was located several blocks away.”  

Sommerville was immediately arrested and lodged into the Union County Jail on charges of 

•Burglary I

•Strangulation-Domestic Violence 

•Assault IV

•Menacing

•Harassment

•Contempt of Court

•Interfering with Making a Report
