PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission meets at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday) and then switches hats and meets as the Pendleton City Council at 7 p.m.
The PDC will consider a recommendation from the Grants Committee to approve a rejuvenation grant for the Blanc Building on Southeast Court Avenue. The building already received a grant for interior work. This request is to fix up the exterior.
The commission will also consider extending unfinished grants that were awarded during the pandemic and were hurt by supply and workforce shortages. The recommendation is to extend the grants that have a remaining balance that’s greater than $5,000, but the PDC could choose to extend all of them or none of them instead.
The Pendleton City Council will consider a resolution that authorizes the city to receive money as a result of the opioid litigation settlement funds. Council members will also consider awarding a contract for water line work on Southwest Houtama Road to Silver Creek Contracting of Heppner.
Under new business, the council will consider paving the outer airport access road in a joint project with Umatilla County. It’s proposed that the county will provide the expertise and equipment and the airport, using CARES Act funding, will purchase the asphalt from American Rock Products under an existing bid.
The meetings are in council chambers at Pendleton City Hall. They can also be accessed via Zoom. For the council meeting, the meeting ID is 885 7628 0707 and the pass code is 912756. For the Pendleton Development Commission meeting, the ID is 894 4001 9621 and the pass code is 161518.
