PENDLETON – This will be the busiest summer for road projects in Pendleton that Public Works Superintendent Jeff Brown can remember.
“We’ve got eight or nine streets that we’re overlaying and five or six that we’re completely rebuilding,” he said. “There are 20 to 30 different street sections that are getting a slurry seal.”
In addition, crews are always looking for opportunities to replace aging infrastructure beneath the streets.
“It’s definitely an issue and we definitely want to get those replaced before we rebuild a street,” he said. “The one on South Main that we’re doing now, it’s broken four times in the last 10 years.”
Brown said people can find out where the many projects are via the city website. Just type “projects” into the search bar and then select the interactive projects map.
“That will give the most up-to-date list of what street is getting what treatment,” he said. “We’ve got a lot going on.”
