GRH announces new Senior Director Human Resources Kathy Dagnon

LA GRANDE(Release from Grande Ronde Hospital) Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics (GRH) announces that Kathy Dagnon, MBA, has joined the GRH team as our Senior Director Human Resources (HR). Kathy is a familiar face here at GRH, after having served as our Interim Senior Director HR twice over the past several years. Most recently, she has been here since last January when the former director retired. In 2018, however, Kathy also served briefly in the same position when that person retired. During these periods, Kathy fell in love with Union County and the people here at GRH. She was eager and excited at the opportunity to make Northeast Oregon her home. We are proud to have her join us as a permanent member of our team.Kathy has an impressive resume and solid career in the HR field. She earned her Masters of Business Administration with an HR Emphasis in 2005 from the University of Phoenix. Her undergraduate degree is in Social Work, with emphasis in psychology.

Kathy had worked as a contracted employee for a national recruiting firm for many years; working mostly in Wisconsin, Arizona, Oregon, Texas and California. She left that firm shortly after her first stint at GRH to work as the VP of HR for the Ector County Health Care District in Odessa, Texas. In November of 2020, Kathy opened her own HR consulting firm, working for various industries including health care, aerospace, and heavy manufacturing.

Kathy enjoys all aspects of HR, and has demonstrated during her time here at GRH that she is passionate about creating an equitable and positive workplace. She believes her greatest career accomplishments are mentoring other HR professionals to grow and move into leadership roles.

When asked about her greatest personal accomplishment, she is quick to respond that it is all about family. She has three children; her oldest daughter is a sister in the Catholic Church, her middle daughter is a paralegal, and her son is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon. In her free time Kathy likes to walk, ride her bike, visit her children whenever possible, travel with her fiancé, and spend time with her dog, Panda, her “fourth” child.

“I am so happy to call La Grande my home and am honored to be able to join the amazing team I have come to know and to admire here at Grande Ronde. I am passionate about working together for the benefit of our organization and the communities we serve,” Kathy said.
