KENNEWICK – The Kennewick Police Department is investigating a homicide after officers were notified at about 5 p.m. Wednesday that a male gunshot victim was dropped off at a local hospital. When officers arrived, it was determined Ezekiel Sanchez, 25, of Kennewick was deceased.
During the time officers were at the hospital, information was developed that two vehicles were possibly involved in the incident. One of those vehicles was located by Chief Chris Guerrero around West Fifth Avenue and South Washington Street. Upon being seen by police, a male passenger exited the vehicle and ran into a residence leaving a female driver and a small child in the vehicle.
Additional police resources responded to the area and several individuals from the home were detained as part of the KPD’s investigation. A firearm was also found in the vehicle that the male passenger exited.
On Thursday, KPD said detectives had determined the location of the actual shooting took place at South Dayton Street and West First Avenue in Kennewick.
