Man arrested in connection to deadly hit-and-run

KENNEWICK – The Kennewick Police Department, in partnership with the United States Marshals Service, arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that occurred in February on West Clearwater Avenue. Aaron James Hill, 27, was located and taken into custody without incident.

On Feb. 6 at 9:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a woman lying in the roadway in the 5000 block of West Clearwater Avenue. Officers discovered the victim, Nyellie Perez, 28, had been struck by a car while crossing the street. Perez was transported to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

According to police, the driver and occupants of the suspect vehicle pulled to the side of the road and fled on foot after striking Perez.

Hill has been booked into the Benton County Jail on multiple charges including hit-and- run death, plus second-degree theft. He’s being held on a $509,000 bond.
