BAKER COUNTY – Possession of a Firearm by Felon and Driving While Suspended resulted in the arrest, by cite and release, of 54-year-old Vey Kong of Saint Helens recently in Baker County. “According to reports from Oregon State Police in Baker County, OSP contacted multiple subjects about fishing on the Brownlee Res. Off of the Snake River Rd. All subjects were advised they were free to leave and when asked for an ID card all involved identified themselves. A LEDS records check was performed and one subject was found to be DWS-Felony. OSP observed a scoped .22 caliber rifle in the subjects’ vehicle and a CCH revealed the subject was a convicted felon. The subject admitted driving to the location and admitted to the possession of the rifle. The subject was cited and released for Possession of a Firearm by Felon and DWS-Felony.”
