HERMISTON – Hermiston police responded Friday afternoon to multiple calls of shots being fired in the area of West Orchard Avenue and Northwest 12th Street. Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston reports that no one was injured as two vehicles exchanged fire.
“A residence located at 1200 W. Orchard Ave. was shot, as was a vehicle in the parking lot of the Hermiston School District,” Edmiston wrote in an email. “Both involved vehicles were impounded pending a search warrant and this case remains under investigation.”
Edmiston said that four people involved in the incident were identified. Two of them are from Hermiston, one is from Boardman, and another is from Umatilla.
Edmiston added that more information will not be released until search warrants that are being written today (Monday) are served.
