BAKER COUNTY – The existing bridge rail on the Richland Interchange bridge over I-84 on OR86 is being replaced with new concrete bridge rail that meets current crash standards.  Work on this project began last week.  A seal will also be applied to the bridge deck to protect it from de-icer and extend its service life.

Last week, crews installing temporary concrete barriers on the bridge to separate the work area from traffic.  They also installed a containment system along the outside of the bridge to keep debris from falling down below once they begin work on the rail.

This week they will begin removal of the existing bridge rail.  There will be intermittent flagging with up to 20 minute delays Monday thru Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM when necessary for construction activities.  There will be no impacts to traffic flow during non-working hours.
