Shelter from the Storm asking for pledges, hopes of raising $30,000

ISLAND CITY – Shelter from the Storm in Island City is working towards raising funds to help with the purchase of a new roof and do some much needed repairs on their safe house. Throughout March they are holding a Pledge Drive, they are asking their Facebook followers to share their #MARCHTOSAM pledge photo and post it on your social media. Tag a friend and challenge them to match your pledge. Use the Shelter’s hashtag so they can see all the community pledges!

Pledge $10, $20, $50, or whatever your budget allows.  Shelter from the Storm is hoping to raise $30,000.

You can help Shelter from the Storm reach their goals, and continue to serve survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking.

Funds will be used to repair roof damage, trim trees, fix entries and make the safe house ADA accessible, and to fix electrical and HVAC issues at the safe house.
