Crews extinguish garage fire in WW, residents evacuated

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Fire Department responded Wednesday afternoon to the 800 block of North Seventh Avenue to a detached garage fully involved. Law enforcement arrived prior to fire crews and had evacuated the adjacent properties.
Firefighters quickly went to work making sure all occupants were out safely and had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
There were no injuries to firefighters or occupants. The cause of the fire is undetermined. Damage to property and contents is estimated at $10,000.
As part of a mutual-aid agreement, Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4 and the College Place Fire Department also responded.
