PENDLETON – The Pendleton City Council meets in chambers today at 7 p.m. The meeting begins with the annual report of the Air Quality Commission by Greg Lacquement. The council will also vote on a proclamation declaring March to be American Red Cross Month.
The first reading of a large number of changes to the city’s architectural design standards will be held. The Pendleton Planning Commission has unanimously recommended the changes from city staff be adopted.
The changes include clarifications for various residential zones and the addition of small square footage dwellings to the code. City Planner George Cress said the changes bring clarity to the intent of the language, open doors for more options of development, and define the direction Pendleton has chosen to create better neighborhoods.
The meeting can be viewed on Zoom. The meeting ID is 848 8298 2122 and the pass code is 248854.
