Two alleged dealers arrested for criminally negligent homicide

PENDLETON: The following is a news release from the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.

On February 14, 2022, Pendleton Police officers arrested Jed Wayne Ball and Misty Dawn Pollard pursuant to secret indictment warrants that issued following Grand Jury proceedings on February 10, 2022.  Mr. Ball and Ms. Pollard were indicted on charges of criminally negligent homicide stemming from their fentanyl dealing activities that resulted in the death of Dane Schell, of Pendleton, on August 24, 2021. 

This case originally handled by the Pendleton Police Department, who quickly turned the matter over to the Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team.               

They were arraigned on February 15, 2022, with the court holding both individuals in custody.  Bail was set in the amount of $220,000 for Mr. Ball and $50,000 for Ms. Pollard.  Mr. Ball’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 7, 2022 and Ms. Pollard is scheduled for March 1, 2022.
