Grande Ronde Hospital honored for the sixth time

LA GRANDE – (Information provided by Grande Ronde Hospital) Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) has once again been honored as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in the Nation.
This is the sixth time that GRH has been honored with this award since receiving it the first time in 2011. Only three of Oregon’s 25 CAHs made the 2022 list, and GRH is one of them. As there are only 1,353 CAHs left in the nation, this places GRH in the top 7.4 percent of performance when compared to peers across the country. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health (CCRH), this annual recognition program honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Hospital Strength INDEX®.
“We celebrate this encouraging news, as it comes at a time when our entire community needs some encouragement,” said Jeremy Davis, GRH CEO and President. “While I am extremely proud of this honor and what the achievement means for us as an organization, I have also realized that it feels much more personal this time. And I am humbled by it. We thought 2020 was tough, but 2021 has been an incredibly difficult year for all of us. To maintain the superior level of performance necessary to achieve this honor is a testament to the resolve, strength, courage and resiliency of our staff under severe pressure and hardship.”

Leveraging publicly available data, the INDEX is trusted by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health across the country to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
