Avalanche Warning

WHAT: The avalanche danger for the warning area will rise too high today.
WHEN: In effect from Thursday, January 6, 2022 – 6:43AM to Thursday, January 6, 2022 – 6:00PM
WHERE: All aspects and elevations in the Northern Blue Mountains. This warning includes popular recreational areas such as Meacham, Tollgate, Spout Springs, Bluewood.
IMPACTS: Recent heavy snow combined with rain will likely create widespread areas of unstable snow.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONSVery dangerous avalanche conditions. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended. Avalanches may run long distances and can run into mature forests, valley floors, or flat terrain.
