Bentz nominates 15 to service academies

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Cliff Bentz (R-Ontario) has nominated 15 Oregon students for acceptance to armed service academies for the 2022-23 school year. Two of the nominees are from Pendleton High School and one attends Imbler High School.
The nominations follow recommendations of a Service Academy Nomination Board, which reviewed the applicants’ academics, extracurricular activities, and character. Final admission will be determined by each academy this spring.
“It is a distinct honor to nominate these outstanding young Oregonians to America’s prestigious service academies,” Bentz said in a prepared statement. “Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our nation have earned each of these young leaders the distinction of being nominated to a U.S. service academy.”
Umatilla County’s two nominees are both students at Pendleton High School. They are Kyle Liscom of Pendleton who is nominated to the Naval Academy and West Point and Tatum Paullus who is nominated to West Point and the Air Force Academy.
In Union County, Nathan Bingaman of Imbler High School is nominated to the Air Force Academy and West Point. The remaining nominees are from Deschutes County (4), Jackson County (4), Josephine County (1), Klamath County (2), and Wasco County (1).
