PENDLETON – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners will meet Wednesday at 9 a.m., for an administrative meeting. The first item on the agenda is a presentation regarding the county’s audit.
Umatilla County Public Health can benefit with added positions. The commissioners will consider hiring an office assistant to support the school-based health centers in the county. It would be funded by the COVID-19 School-based Health and Recovery program.
The board will consider instead of hiring a contract provider to serve as its health officer, that it officially names Dr. Jon Hitzman to that post, effective on the first day of 2022. Also on the agenda, the commissioners will consider creating a public health program manager position to support modernization in the department. State funds will cover that cost.
Another item on the agenda is “County Manager.” There is no accompanying paperwork to define what will be discussed.
The meeting is in Room 114 of the Umatilla County Courthouse in Pendleton. It is also available by calling 240-490-4450. The PIN is 989 813 428#.
