Lost hikers, dog rescued from Rattlesnake Mountain

KENNEWICK – A couple and their dog who were hiking on Rattlesnake Mountain were rescued Sunday after taking a wrong turn and becoming lost, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. The weather in the area shifted and the couple were not appropriately dressed for the drop in temperature.
With the assistance of Benton County Fire District No. 2, the couple and their dog were located by deputies and escorted to safety.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office said both were thankful for the quick response by deputies and fire personnel.
