Motel fire under investigation

LA GRANDE – The La Grande Fire Department and the La Grande Rural Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire Sunday night at around 8:20 to the Roadway Inn on Adams Avenue. On arrival, smoke was visible coming from the roof area. In total 6-rooms were damaged, 4-from smoke and water damage and 2-rooms, one including a utility room, and one guest room were damaged by fire. Monday afternoon Chief Cornford said, the Fire Marshall investigated the damage to determine the cause and at this time the investigation is continuing.
