WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla County Superior Court Judge Brandon Johnson granted pretrial release for one of the suspects in this summer’s group attack in Walla Walla and established an order for electronic home monitoring.
The trial for Habakkuk A. Thompkins, 20, of Pendleton begins on Jan. 25, 2022. He is accused of joining a group of eight, including two minors, that were allegedly organized by his father, Charles Thompkins Jr., 63, of Pendleton to travel from Pendleton to Walla to confront a group of people believed to have stolen a vehicle from him. During the confrontation shots were fired and a fight broke out which resulted in three people being injured.
Charges of first-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and harassment were filed against Habukkuk Thompkins. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
