JOSEPH, OR – Wallowa Lake has been named among the world’s 50 best places to travel in 2022, according to Travel Lemming’s annual list of emerging destinations.

The online travel guide’s annual list of underappreciated travel spots urges travelers to avoid a “return to the over tourism era of the 2010s” and to instead “appreciate all of Planet Earth’s beautiful destinations, even those in our own backyards.”

In describing why Wallowa Lake was selected by Travel Lemming’s team of 15 travel writers and editors, the article describes it as “outdoor enthusiast’s dream destination for 2022.”

Travel Lemming writer Jasmine Pettitt commented: “Wallowa Lake has all the peaceful, rustic charm you could want for a remote vacation. Rest and recharge in solitude. Enjoy the wildlife and abounding natural wonders. This is one of my favorite places to escape from the worries of the world.”

Travel Lemming’s founder Nate Hake added: “Where we travel matters, and there are many more deserving destinations than most people realize even exist. Our hope with publishing this list is to bring attention to places that are especially deserving of your dollars as the global travel industry rebuilds.”
