PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission and the Pendleton City Council are expected to take action tonight at 6:30 at what was originally scheduled to be a council work session. The PDC is the city council acting as Pendleton’s urban renewal agency.
The meeting will first take up a request for urban renewal funding by Moto Stuff for additional funding. That company is remodeling the old fire station on Southwest Court Avenue. No documents related to that funding request have been attached to the agenda.
Immediately after that issue is decided, the meeting will become the city council session, with a twist. Normally, the work sessions do not include action items. This agenda does. City staff is requesting that the scope of the airport’s construction manager/general contractor agreement be expanded to include similar work at other city facilities, including the Vert Auditorium, Pendleton City Hall, and the police department campus.
It is believed that expanding the scope will save money by combining the projects and increasing the quantities of items such as paint, carpet, and windows. A city employee said that the city does not need to go through the process of a public hearing, because the proposal does not involve spending additional money.
The companies contracted to perform the airport remodel are LKV Architects of Boise and McCormack Construction of Pendleton.
Both meetings are available on Zoom. The meeting ID is 848 8298 2122 and the pass code is 248854.
