GRANT COUNTY – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has been dealing with recent burglaries on South Canyon Blvd. and East Main St. in John Day. A suspect has been identified in the South Canyon break in, but not the East Main incident. Sheriff McKinley issued a release, asking if anyone has information regarding persons being seen in an area that seem out of place to contact the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff reminds folks to keep your place secure during the holidays:

“You know, I’m a fan of cameras in that aspect because a picture is worth a thousand words. It tells a lot.

Whether it’s the raccoon that keeps coming in, or if somebody’s there. A lot of things have been solved around this area based on somebody’s trail cameras.”

The non-emergency line to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office is 575-1131.
