BURNS/HINES, OR- Monday November 29 around 4:20am Harney County Dispatch received a phone call stating that there is a female subject that light a shed on fire on North Alvord in Burns. The reporting party stated that Leslie Majors started the fire. Her husband was trying to get the fire out and wake up another person who was in the home. Leslie Majors fled the scene and was located a short time later in a driveway behind the house.
Leslie Majors/Lafferty was booked and housed at the Harney County Jail Facility for Arson 1, Burg 1, Attempted Manslaughter 1 and Reckless Burning.
Following the arson investigation Monday, local law enforcement made an arrest for alleged Arson I, Attempted Manslaughter, Burglary I, and Reckless Burning. When the suspect was lodged at the Harney County Jail, the charges listed included Manslaughter I (instead of the Attempted Manslaughter). They were released today pending further investigation.
