Two CPPD officers to be promoted

COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council meets tonight at 7 and will begin its regular meeting with the promotion of two College Place police officers to sergeant. The two officers are Salvador Diaz, who was hired on July 21, 2016, and Dylan Schmick, who was hired on October 2, 2017.

The council is also expected to approve the 2022 property tax levy with a one percent increase. The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount of $1,529,135 from the previous year would be $15,291. This increase, which puts the 2022 actual levy amount at $1,544,426, is exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly constructed wind turbines, any increase in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have occurred, and refunds that have been made.

Also on the agenda, council will be presented tonight with informational reports on the draft fiscal year 2022 to 2027 capital facility, equipment replacement and information technology plans.
