WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools is partnering with the Walla Walla County Department of Community Health to offer voluntary vaccinations for district students between the ages of 5-11.

This partnership comes following the recent announcement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children in that age group. It was approved earlier this week by Western governors including Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown.

Parent/guardian permission forms are required for all students. Due to different dosing levels, students 12 and older are not eligible for this opportunity. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the school while vaccines are administered. Sixth grade students may get vaccinated with written parental consent only.

Preregistration is recommended to speed up the vaccination process. For a complete school clinic schedule or to preregister, families can visit: https://www.wwps.org/news/spotlight/6591-school-vaccine-clinics-ages-5-11.
