WSP investigating two separate accidents in Benton County

KENNEWICK — The Washington State Patrol is investigating two separate fatal accidents that occurred in Benton County Monday. The first happened on State Route 240 and the second happened on Interstate 82.
Troopers said Kenneth J. Bloom, 65, of Kennewick was traveling westbound on State Route 240 at milepost 41 at 12:29 p.m. when his 2018 Kia Soul left the roadway and came to rest in Columbia Park in Kennewick.
Bloom was transported to Trios Health Southridge Hospital where he died for injuries sustained the in crash. WSP said drugs or alcohol were not involved.
The second accident happened at 5:55 p.m. on Interstate 82 at milepost 129, 14 miles south of Kennewick.
Troopers said Chelsea L. Johnson, 35, of Redmond was traveling westbound on the interstate when her 2008 Chevy Impala left the roadway and rolled. Johnson died at the scene. WSP said it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
