PENDLETON – The Pendleton City Council has a relatively light agenda at its meeting today (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. Items on the agenda include an annexation and accepting a grant.
The annexation is for one acre of land at 1588 Southgate Place. The landowner wants to expand a mini-storage business. The land is contiguous to the Pendleton city limits, and staff reports it meets the requirements for immediate annexation. The assessed value of the property is $196,090.
The council is being asked to accept a grant of $315,790 from the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program. The money would cover preliminary design for relocating Runway 29. The city does not have to provide matching funds. The project is to align the airport layout with modern design and engineering standards. Under those standards, the end of the runway is considered too close to the terminal building.
The council meeting is available via Zoom. The meeting ID is 848 8298 2122 and the pass code is 248854.
