WALLA WALLA – Another suspect in this summer’s group attack in Walla Walla made his first court appearance in court Monday. Jeremiah Ademu Thompkins, 18, of Pendleton is charged with first-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and criminal mischief following the July 5 incident on Prospect Avenue.
Jeremiah is accused of joining a group of eight, including two minors, that were allegedly organized by his father, Charles Thompkins Jr., 63, of Pendleton, to travel from Pendleton to Walla Walla. Once in Walla Walla, the group confronted people believed to have stolen a vehicle belonging to Charles. During the confrontation shots were fired and a fight broke out which resulted in three people being injured.
During his court appearance, Jeremiah Thompkins agreed to appear in court on Nov. 1 to enter a plea to the charges against him.
On Monday, both Charles and his son, Habakkuk A. Thompkins, had appearances in Walla Walla County Superior Court. The father had his jury trial reset to Tuesday, Nov. 16. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and harassment. Habakkuk Thompkins entered not guilty pleas to the charges against him and had a trial date set for Nov. 30.
