BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker School District) At their September 16 meeting, the Baker School District board approved the selection of LKV Architects, based in Boise, ID, as the architectural firm for 2021-2023 capital bond projects. LKV Architects was selected from among five applicants by a district selection committee including members from the administration team, bond oversight committee, and school board. Wenaha Group, the district’s bond project manager, facilitated the selection process, which included scoring each firm on a predetermined rubric, then interviewing the two finalists.
The LKV design team has worked with Baker School District previously on preliminary design preparation, pre-bond design work, completion of a district-wide Building Facilities Assessment Report, and renovation of the Baker Early Learning Center.
“Educational facilities are a major component of LKV’s work,” says Superintendent Mark Witty. “They have completed projects for 18 Idaho school districts, 4 Oregon school districts, private schools, universities, and colleges, including Blue Mountain Community College. The LKV design team also has a proven track record with the Baker School District specifically, which led to confidence in their ability to provide the architectural and engineering services necessary to bring bond projects to a successful completion.”
LKV Architects will team up with Wenaha Group to help the school district bring the vision of these capital bond projects to life over the next two years and benefit students and the greater community for many years to come.
