Equipment challenges create delays for sanitation division

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Fleet Services and Sanitation divisions continue to work through delays caused by parts availability. As a result, picking up green waste will be delayed again this week.
“Customers may put their green waste at the curb this week, but it will be picked up and landfilled with the garbage,” Public Works Communications Coordinator Shane Prudente said in a news release.
Prudente said the city anticipates bringing in two additional trucks online Monday, Sept. 20. Until then, the city will continue to work with the three trucks it has available and an additional mini automated side loader truck to stay on schedule.
