The story of the lost stuffed puppy, based on true events

SUMPTER – Have you heard the story of the lost stuffed puppy? One the weekend of August 28 and 29, a brave little stuffed puppy was enjoying a trip with his family on the Sumpter Valley Railroad, but the day quickly turned sad for the puppy when his family left without him.

The stuffed puppy, who is being called “Smokie” by everyone at the Sumpter Valley Railroad, has been having a lot of fun with all his new friends but would love to go home to his family.

Smokie has been able to hang out on the front of the train for a photo op and got to drive the train as well.

Just this past weekend Smokie met the Gold Rush Bandits after their train robbery. Earlier this month, Smokie was able to show followers of the Sumpter Valley Railroads Facebook page what the 720 Diesel used for the Halloween Train looks like and got to check out the fire train too.

Earlier this week a worker with the Sumpter Valley Railroad decided that Smokie was getting a little dirty and gave him a nice bath. While Smokie may have protested at first, he did admit that it was nice to be all clean again!

Smokie does appear to be having lots of fun with his new friends but misses his family terribly.
