PENDLETON – The Pendleton Main Street Cowboys work non-stop through Round-Up week, beginning with the Dress-Up Parade through four blocks of entertainment and a carnival on Main Street. In their chartreuse and purple cowboy shirts, they are at their most visible, but the work doesn’t end with the rodeo.

MSC works throughout the year, appearing in parades, setting up their benches for a large number of events, and helping those in need in Pendleton. The group is in need of new people, since many of their members are in their 70s and 80s.

“We would really encourage younger people to join,” Main Street Cowboy Larry Koehne said. “Come talk to us. We’re really low pressure, and if you really want to participate and be part of the community, this is the best group of guys I have ever met in my life.”

Those who want to don the chartreuse and purple shirts merely need to approach a member on Main Street this week or email mainstreetcowboys@wtechlink.us.
