Commissioners to award bridge, stormwater projects

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners meets today (Monday) at 10 a.m. On the agenda, bid awards for the arch bridge on Lamar Road and a stormwater project on Old Milton Highway.

Apollo, Inc. of Kennewick submitted the lowest bid for the arch bridge on Lamar project at $1,473,255.92. The project will replace the existing concrete structure with a single span, prestressed girder bridge from milepost 2.64 to 2.94. Nelson Construction of Walla Walla submitted the lowest bid for the stormwater project on Old Milton Highway at $41,834.53. Both projects are expected to be awarded today.

Commissioners are also expected to pass an ordinance they have been working on authorizing wheeled all-terrain vehicles on county roads with speed limits of 35 miles per hour or less.
