Black Butte Fire personnel pleased with containment progress

PRAIRIE CITY – The Black Butte Fire southeast of Prairie City continues to increase in containment. At last update, the fire is 22,348 acres and 85% contained. Northwest Incident Management Team 6 Incident Commander Shawn Sheldon said things are looking good:
“You know, things right now are looking really good. We’ve got the forward progression of the fire stopped. We’re in heavy mop-up patrol, doing a little bit of suppression repair.
You will see the acres gained just a little bit, due to there are some internal green islands that are continuing to [be] consumed.”
