PENDLETON – Pendleton Police Department detectives continue to investigate the shooting Friday evening that left one man injured. The incident occurred on Southwest Emigrant Avenue when two men on the street and a man in a vehicle began to argue.
The man in the car was shot in the stomach and the two on the street fled after a total of 13 rounds were fired. Police Chief Chuck Byram said the two who escaped also fired “a couple more” rounds on Frazer Avenue. Byram said they are not releasing the name of the victim at this time, but added the shooters did not know the victim.
He said to give out any more information could jeopardize the investigation, but he stressed that he believes the incident does not mean there is a heightened danger to the general public.
