HERMISTON – The Umatilla County Fair Kick-Off Parade is Saturday, and Commissioner Dan Dorran says it’s a starter that’s not to be missed.
“It starts at 6:30 p.m.,” he said. “It’ll begin by the Kennison Field at the high school and ends up at Bi-Mart. It’s a fairly long route.”
Dorran said people put their chairs out along that route starting as early as Thursday. Whether you’re in the parade or watching it, he said it’s a fun event.
“It’s always a lot of fun to either participate in or watch, because of the diversity of the floats and things that roll through,” he said.
In addition to the parade itself, there will be vaccination stations at the start and end of the route. People who get vaccinated can choose either two $10 meal vouchers or a carnival wristband.
