WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will meet today (Monday) at 10 a.m. The board will set a date for a public hearing to consider a proposed ordinance related to wheeled all-terrain vehicles. The date proposed for the hearing is Aug. 16 at 11:15 a.m.
The Revised Code of Washington restricts wheeled all-terrain vehicles from being used on public roadways in the county with a population of 15,000 or more, unless the county passes an ordinance allowing such uses.
The RCW also restricts all-wheeled vehicle use on roads with speed limits of 35 miles or less, however Walla Walla County has proposed an ordinance to remove the restrictions on designated county roads.
Commissioners will meet in person today, but also continue to host the meeting via WebEx. Instructions on access are on the board of commissioners page on the county website.
