HEPPNER – The often-delayed attempted murder case against Adam Harvill, 32, of Heppner could be resolved in early September. Harvill was arrested over a year ago on charges involved in an assault on his significant other.

Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson said that Harvill has used three different court-appointed attorneys, which has slowed the progress of the case. Now, it appears the defendant is ready to discuss a deal.

“That’s set for a settlement conference in front of Judge (Christopher) Brauer on Sept. 2,” Nelson said.

The conference will not simply be about that one assault.

“Mr. Harvill has other cases of strangulation, assault 4, and another forgery case,” Nelson said. “With these three cases that he has against him, he’s still in Umatilla County Jail. We’re going to try to get this to a settlement conference to see if we can resolve all three cases.”
