EASTERN OREGON – Work on I-84 from MP 237.5 to MP 241.5 next week:

Guardrail and bridge work will be completed this week.  Painted striping and concrete barrier moves will take place this week to set up for a traffic pattern change tentatively scheduled for late Thursday or early Friday.  There will be a lot of activity at each end of the project late in the week to complete this work necessary to make the change, so please use extra caution.  Two way traffic will be moved from its current location on the westbound side of the freeway to the newly completed eastbound side of the freeway to allow construction on the westbound side of the freeway to begin.  Opposing lanes of traffic will continue to be separated by the orange tubular markers as it has been for the last few months.

The westbound on ramp at Exit 238 (Meacham) will be closed after the traffic pattern change.  Local Meacham traffic intending to go westbound on the freeway will need to take the old highway to the westbound on ramp near Emigrant Springs State Park.  The eastbound on and off ramps and westbound off ramp at Exit 238 will be open after the traffic pattern change.  Please remember that the speed limit through the workzone will remain 50 MPH.

There is a second project on I-84 that will continue this week.

A project to repair and install linings in culverts crossing under the freeway will continue all week.  Intermittent shoulder closures Monday through Thursday WB MP 227.5 – 227.3.  The closures will accommodate repairs and lining of culvert pipes crossing the freeway.  This work will occur during daylight hours.

Update for ODOT construction project on Hwy 244 at Milepost 36 (between Red Bridge and Starkey).

They will be removing the old failing retaining wall along the river on the Starkey end of the project this week and begin excavation for a new retaining wall.  Base aggregate will be placed on the Hilgard end of the project.  They will be working Monday thru Friday.

Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and pilot car 24/7 starting Monday morning.  Delays of 10 to 15 minutes can be expected.
