PENDLETON —  The Pendleton Police Department is charging Rion Post, 20, of Pendleton with several acts stemming from three incidents that took place Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Chief Chuck Byram said that Post allegedly threatened an acquaintance with a handgun in the first incident. That person asked that Post be trespassed but did not want to press criminal charges.

Officers were  unable to locate Post until a report of a similar SUV was received. Its driver damaged a vehicle by lighting fireworks close to it. Byram said that when the suspect drove off, he fired shots through his sunroof.

Early Wednesday morning, Post came to a halt when he crashed his vehicle in Umatilla County. Sheriff’s deputies responded and he was taken to St. Anthony Hospital. Upon his release, officers from PPD took him into custody. Charges against him include unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and reckless driving. His bail is set at $92,500.
