COLLEGE PLACE – Roadside parking is now permanently restricted along Mojonnier Road between Mission Road and Beet Road/Frog Hollow Road, according to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office. The WWSO posted a notice on its Facebook page this week stating the roadside parking restriction has been made due to safety concerns related to ongoing traffic and parking problems in the area.
The county engineer has placed no parking signs on both sides of the road.
Cars that are parked on any county roads posted for no parking could be ticketed and possibly towed at the owners’ expense. The city of College Place recently completed sewer utility improvements in the area, which forced Mojonnier Road to be closed to through traffic.
“Mojonnier Road is open,” College Place Public Works Director Paul Hartwig said. “The county will come in and chip seal the road in a couple of weeks.”
