City of La Grande Fire Department Bans Fireworks and Outdoor Recreational Fires

LA GRANDE – The City of La Grande Fire Department has implemented a temporary ban on the use of all fireworks and outdoor burning, including recreational burns, beginning immediately. This is due to the unusually high temperatures and dry conditions the area is experiencing. We recognize the hardship this may cause on community members plan to celebrate Independence Day but with the extreme temperatures and high risk of fires this is a necessary precaution.
Violators of this ban may receive a citation.
This ban will remain in place until weather and moisture conditions improve and it is officially lifted by the City of La Grande Fire Department.
